About Montefiore Medical Center Wellness Center at Port Morris
The Wellness Center at Port Morris is part of the Montefiore Einstein health system located in the Bronx, New York. They provide services to individuals who are eighteen years of age or older and have an opioid use disorder. Language services are provided in both English and Spanish for more accessible care.
Their operating hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 in the morning until 5:30 in the evening. They also have morning hours on Saturdays from 8a.m. to 10:30a.m. if you’re looking for care outside of the typical work week.
Services to Treat Opioid Use
There’s a combination of medications and mental health services available to you. Methadone treatment uses medication, and therapy options include individual and group counseling. You can also see a primary care provider, and receive additional psychiatric services. Nutritional and educational services are also available.
For individuals who require more intensive care such as inpatient detoxification and psychiatric treatment, these are excluded at the Wellness Center.
Sites to Visit Near the Center
To promote relaxation and connection to the community, there are sites in the Bronx that you and your loved ones can visit. St. Mary’s Park has outdoor activities like picnicking and track running. There is also an indoor facility where you can swim and take dance classes to promote healthy movement.
Bronx Park is another green space where you can go on walking trails and look out at scenic views. These community spaces can be great resources outside of treatment.
