About BronxCare Family Wellness Center
The BronxCare Family Wellness Center is one of seven locations all throughout the Bronx that offer primary care and other special care services. BronxCare is dedicated to providing the community with the proper care and needs no matter an individual’s financial status or background. It's all based in the Bronx, New York.
Vaughn Thoman, one of the Chairman on the Board of Directors states that “Our dedicated staff is justifiably proud of our history, pleased with our progress, and enthusiastic about our future.”
New York is a vibrant city and on top of receiving care, there are activities you can incorporate into your day like visiting green spaces and spending time with loved ones. The Bronx Zoo cares for hundreds of animals and can be a great way to learn something new. Bronx Park is another option where you can spend time in nature on walking paths with scenic views.
Psychiatric Care Options and Advancements
In addition to primary care, BronxCare emphasizes the importance of inpatient and outpatient resources for your emotional health. Inpatient treatment includes three adult units and one for children and young adults. Services include psychiatric evaluations to determine the best direction of care, as well as individual, group, and family therapy.
Telehealth is also available for accessing evaluations, consultations, and resident supervision.
Bronxcare is also working to incorporate transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to individuals with mental health challenges such as depression, nicotine dependence, and obsessive compulsive disorder.
Additional Health Services
The BronxCare Family Wellness Center has family medicine services to nurture the whole person and family, podiatry, and gastroenterology. They also offer a number of integrative health services. These look like acupuncture, dry needling, cupping, joint and trigger point injections, and osteopathic manipulative treatment.
