About Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services
In the hot beach town of Clearwater, Florida, the Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services organization provides a range of outpatient behavioral health services. At this location, you’ll find crisis care, addiction treatment, prevention and intervention services, and supportive housing services.
Some specialized services they offer include Jewish family services, services for the elderly and disabled, and refugee services. Other locations of this organization offer residential treatment programs.
Services Inspired By Jewish Values
Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services uses their values to foster a culture of kindness, empathy, and generosity. They believe mental health challenges shouldn’t define a person’s life. The Community Assistance and Life Liaison Program sends clinical staff members to non-violent and non-criminal calls to provide therapeutic wraparound services.
I appreciate that this program works with the local police department to aid in calls that include suicide intervention, intoxication and mental health crises. The Quick Response Team treats individuals who have recently received naloxone or who are at risk for overdose. Case managers or peer specialists perform risk assessments, safety planning and overdose education.
Comprehensive Treatment For The Whole Person
For individuals presenting with substance abuse symptoms, this organization offers in-home services for individualized screening and assessment, intervention, short-term problem solving and referrals for more extensive treatment. JFCS gives people counseling, vocational training and referrals to housing.
Through addressing all of these different areas of a client’s life, they can have a higher chance of avoiding relapse. I like that they also have individualized parenting education and emergency financial assistance.
