About Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard
Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is a mental health and addiction treatment center located in the heart of Philadelphia that currently serves adults. The facility accepts Community Behavioral Health, Medical Assistance of Pennsylvania, and Behavioral Health Special Initiative health plans. They also offer financial assistance for clients in need.
Comprehensive Addiction Treatment in Philadelphia
This facility offers both outpatient and intensive outpatient services for those who are suffering from symptoms of persistent mental health conditions or chemical dependencies. Clients with addictions can get medical assisted treatment in the form of Suboxone and Vivitrol.
One thing I like about this facility is that it offers bilingual services for clients who prefer services in Spanish. Another thing I really appreciate about this facility is they have a program called Miracles in Progress. This program is designed specifically for chronically homeless men who have addictions and co-occurring mental health conditions.
The facility also offers a residential treatment program for males. This program involves weekly individualized counseling, group sessions and educational lectures.
Offering Methadone Treatment
One of the most notable things about this location is that it is one of Philadelphia’s oldest and largest methadone addiction treatment programs. The center itself began as a Children’s Hospital back in 1896.
Over the years, the location transformed into one of the first facilities to offer alcohol addiction treatment in the 1930s. In 1970, it became one of the first clinics to offer methadone treatment. Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is not far from downtown Philadelphia, where you can enjoy local attractions such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
