About Driskill Halfway House
Driskill Halfway House for Men (DHH) may not offer formal addiction treatment, but they do offer men who are in recovery from substance use disorders a place to land. Located in Tulia, Texas, the house is operated by a nonprofit faith based organization.
Trulia is a quiet rural town about 46 miles south of Amarillo. It’s a helpful environment for those first months of sober living. Getting to town takes about 20 minutes if you walk, and once you arrive, you’ll find a few places where you can grab a donut and coffee or a plate of authentic tacos.
Spiritual Support for Recovery
Recovery here is about accountability. You’ll develop new routines and share in the chores with the other men. Life skills training is designed to support recovery by building discipline and encouraging responsibility.
There’s a meeting room where everyone spends time in group sessions. That’s where Bible study and building relationships happen.
A Place to Regroup and Feel Safe
This isn’t a luxury setup, but it’s comfortable and clean. There’s room for 26 men, and you’ll stay in a furnished semi-private room. Two dayrooms have cable and wireless internet access.
A laundry is onsite. No lugging laundry to town!
What to Expect When You Apply
You’ll need to have at least 30 days of sobriety before you submit your application. You’ll also provide information for a background check. A negative UA is required when you check in.
Adult men aged 18 and older can apply by filling out the application and paying the upfront processing fee. Monthly rent includes your room and meals.
Driskill Halfway House for Men could be a good option if you’re ready for the next steps after formal addiction treatment. There’s structure and accountability, but you’ll also have the freedom to go to work or school.
