About Del Amo Behavioral Health System
Del Amo Behavioral Health System in the South Bay area of Torrance, California, offers crisis stabilization and inpatient treatment for substance use. They partner with Michael’s House and Reasons Eating Disorder Center to provide additional mental health and addiction treatment.
The center is certified by The Joint Commission and Action Alliance. They accept most major insurance companies and managed care plans.
Crisis Stabilization and Detoxification
The center offers voluntary and involuntary admission for clients suffering a crisis. In most cases clients are referred to residential treatment after stabilization. Inpatient medical detox is necessary for those who are dependent on substances and cannot benefit from treatment before cleansing their bodies of substances.
Adolescent Inpatient Treatment
The center offers various inpatient treatment programs. Many people begin addictive behaviors such as smoking or using substances when they are adolescents. The adolescent inpatient program works with the family as they provide treatment that may prevent the adolescent from being addicted as an adult.
Trauma and Veterans Inpatient Treatment
The inpatient trauma program treats clients with PTSD, complex trauma and co-occurring mental health disorders. The veterans program offers treatment related to combat stress and military deployment.
Inpatient Senior Legacy Program
The senior legacy program is offered for seniors ages 55 and above. If you have reached this age you have probably lost loved ones and had other major life transitions that are affecting your mental health. Such losses and life changes can lead a senior to use substances.
The program uses group therapy through dialectical behavior groups, cognitive behavioral groups and psychotherapy groups. Medication may be necessary in conjunction with therapy. Other treatments and services that are senior focused include pain management, fall risk prevention, recreational therapy and social activities.
General Inpatient Substance Use Treatment
General adult inpatient programs use anger management groups, psychotherapy groups and medication management to treat adults for substance use disorder. Additional therapies include recreational therapy, leisure therapy and music therapy.
