You will enjoy therapeutic recreational activities, art therapy, and yoga. Substance use and recovery can be stressful and these types of therapies help you relax and reflect.
Substance Use Treatment with Medication
You may need medication assisted treatment (MAT) in addition to therapy and you can receive those services here. Medication, particularly for opiate use disorder, has proven to lead to a more effective recovery.
Treatment for Co-occurring Disorders
Psychiatric services are available to treat any co-occurring mental health disorders you are diagnosed with. Common disorders associated with substance use include depression and anxiety.
HIV/AIDS Testing and Treatment
Because substance use leads to risqué behavior, clients are tested for HIV/AIDS. For those who test positive, treatment is provided. I like that those who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless receive housing assistance.
Wellness Recovery Action Plan
The center uses therapies such as cognitive behavioral, trauma informed, and multi dimensional family therapies. Through their wellness recovery action plan (WRAP), women receive medical and psychiatric treatment, biopsychosocial assessments, case management, and smoking cessation counseling.
