About Catholic Charities Family and Community Services
Catholic Charities Family and Community Services offers real support for both addiction and mental health. They don’t just focus on substance use treatment either. They look at the whole person and all of the life challenges they're struggling with to come up alongside them. It’s based in Rochester, New York, by the Genesee River.
Addiction and Behavioral Health Services
Catholic Charities offers outpatient counseling, residential recovery programs and specialized clinics for people struggling with drug or alcohol use. They even help with gambling addiction, which isn’t something a lot of places talk about. What’s unique is how they blend faith-based compassion with evidence-based care. That means you might be working through substance use, but you're also getting support for depression, housing needs, anxiety and even job training.
Their Restart residential Programs are especially known in the community. They give adults a structured and supportive environment to get stable and start fresh. For women who are pregnant or parenting young children, there are family-friendly residential options where kids can stay.
And the care goes away beyond therapy sessions too. There’s a ton of different support options offered like anger management groups, life skills classes and relapse prevention. Plus, they’ve got fun and sober activities to rebuild a sense of community.
Support for Every Walk of Life
What makes Catholic Charities stand out is the way they service so many different populations. They have programs for people with developmental disabilities, services for refugees and migrants trying to bulk new lives, resources for the elderly and even employment programs for people with chronic illness.
And this facility isn’t just recognized locally. Their Liberty Manor residential program was named a Blue Distinction Center for Substance Use Treatment and Recovery by Exellus BlueCross BlueShield, which is pretty cool. It shows they’re meeting national quality standards in safety and patient outcomes.
