About Catholic Charities Crozier House
Just off of Main Street in Main South, Worcester, Massachusetts, you can find Crozier House. This facility is operated and supported by the Catholic Charities of Worcester County to provide adult men with a safe, sober living environment and a structured program designed to facilitate recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. They serve men ages 18 and older.
A Program Oriented Towards Independence and Freedom
The approach at Crozier House is of a nonmedical nature, meaning that they don’t use medications or medical treatments to support recovery. Instead, they have you engage with the structure of the program and the environment, follow your counselor’s guidance, and rely on the community’s support.
Each week’s routine includes household chores, several group support meetings, nightly curfews, and one on one meetings with your mentor. However, this program also has enough space to allow you to seek employment, to work once you’ve found employment, and to build your own support network in the community. This allows you to exercise a great deal of freedom and to develop confidence while still having somewhere safe to return to.
Closely Connected With Several Other Supports
As a charitable organization, they don’t turn people away based on race, religion, or inability to pay upfront. They can also help you access a number of other helpful supports and resources if you need help in other areas.
