About Bronx TASC
Bronx TASC in Bronx, New York strives to rehabilitate non violent offenders who are involved in the criminal justice system by offering substance use treatment. Research has found that a majority of those involved in the justice system were led there by substance use, so this facility uses addiction treatment as a key part of rehabilitation.
Treatment in Place of Criminal Charges
The program tracks court cases to determine eligibility for the program based on offenses. Once an individual is approved by the court to receive treatment in place of punishment, the program works as an intermediary between the court and the community based treatment provider where the client has been placed.
Specialized Programs to Suit Unique Needs
They have specialized placement for clients who are in special circumstances such as domestic violence victims, deaf clients, and clients transitioning to a new gender identity. This allows them to be an inclusive treatment center that serves people who might not get the specialized care they need at other facilities.
Once you are a client you will be assigned a case manager. Your case manager will use trauma informed care and motivational interviewing to encourage your involvement in the program. If you fail to follow the program’s care plan for you, they will implement graduated sanctions, or escalate your consequences.
We all want peaceful, non violent, law abiding neighbors in our communities. This program is one step closer to making this a reality.
