About Belvedere Addictions Center

Centrally located in downtown Syracuse, New York, Belvedere Addictions Center provided outpatient treatment to individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. They’re now permaently closed but they accepted Medicaid and Medicare, and a sliding fee scale may have been available to assist those who qualify.

Their mission was to “offer personalized, compassionate care while helping our clients build the skills for a healthier future.”

Inclusive Services for Diverse Populations

Believing that “everyone deserves another chance,” they worked to support each client’s individual recovery journey. Services were structured for adults 18 and older. There was an emphasis on inclusivity, with treatment designed to cater to individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Client Empowerment and Community Integration

Individual, group, and family counseling were available through their outpatient and intensive outpatient programs.

They also offered medication assisted treatment (MAT) for both alcohol and opioid use disorders. I appreciate that there was a strong focus on client empowerment and community integration, and that they participated in active partnerships with local resources for wraparound services like employment and housing assistance as well as healthcare.

Comprehensive assessments, relapse prevention, and aftercare were important aspects of their program, and referrals were provided for higher levels of care and ancillary services.

Welcoming and Respectful Environment

I found positive reviews of the facility, with former clients praising the compassionate, knowledgeable, and supportive staff. They cite success in long term recovery and appreciation for the nonjudgmental approach to treatment. Many describe a welcoming and respectful environment that fosters hope and motivation.
