About Avalon Recovery House
The Avalon Recovery House (ARH) is a transitional sober living home for women that can be located in Richmond, Virginia’s Dumbarton area. This house, often described as more of a home by past and present residents, offers women a safe place in which to implement their recovery plans after graduating from more structured rehabilitation programs.
Independence With Safety and Structure
As a sober living home, their primary focus is giving each woman enough space and independence to venture out, connect with a support group, and find employment while she sticks to her long term recovery plan. However, they also have a few services to help support each resident's journey.
Their house manager and staff offer relapse prevention planning and provide the residents with educational material to help expand their knowledge about recovery even more. They’re also trained to build and facilitate the house’s internal community, allowing residents to better learn from each other and to hold each other accountable.
Rebuilding in Peace
ARH is situated in one of Richmond’s quiet neighborhoods and is conveniently close to several public transport nodes including the train station on Staples Mill Road. They’re also a short distance from the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, which can be an amazing place to enjoy nature and a little extra quiet for thinking or relaxing.
