About Third Day Treatment Center
Third Day Treatment Center in Bryan, Texas, is owned and operated by Jerry and Nancy Winn. They’re a married couple with degrees and certifications for treating substance use disorder. They treat addiction as a progressive and potentially fatal disease. The clinic isn’t far from the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum.
Individual Counseling for Substance Use
Individual counseling provides education concerning substance use disorder, skills to prevent relapses, and how to construct a sober network. You’ll be required to attend 12 step support meetings and obtain a sponsor. This will help you start building sober relationships, set boundaries, and develop interpersonal people skills.
When many people are completely revamping their lives, they need to learn how to avoid relapse. This involves identifying what triggers us and learning how to avoid those triggers. We need to build a support system of people who care about us and will encourage us in our sobriety.
Family Education and Support
Family sessions give the opportunity to repair relationships within the family unit. Family members are taught how to manage stress, communicate effectively, solve problems, and develop sober leisure time.
Department of Transportation Required Processes
The DOT Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) return to duty process is required for those employees who have violated a DOT drug or alcohol test. Safety sensitive employees are removed from duties and referred to a clinic such as Third Day, who are DOT qualified.
DOT supervisors, designated employee representatives, and other identified employees are required to complete a two-hour reasonable suspicion training. Third Day is qualified to provide this training.
Young Adults Prevention Groups
The clinic offers specialized counseling for youth transitioning into adults and who are involved in life changing events such as going to college. Stressful situations can lead a young adult to use substances. Group therapies focus on education, healthy self-esteem, and positive environments for successful transitions to adulthood.
