About White Deer Run
White Deer Run in Williamsport, Pennsylvania was a recovery center that supported individuals struggling with addiction or co occurring mental health challenges. They provided care in an outpatient setting and served as a supportive center where therapeutic interventions and evidence based therapies helped you build the foundation for a sober and healthy future.
Unfortunately, their Williamsport location has shut down permanently. This organization still operates in the state, though, and its closest location is in Allenwood about 20 minutes south.
Recovery Through the 12 Steps
They offered an intensive outpatient and general outpatient program, both of which incorporated the 12 step recovery model. Through this model, you could connect with other peers in recovery, build meaningful relationships, and reflect on your recovery in a way that encouraged you to tap into your strengths and lean on a higher power when needed.
Targeted Support Groups
Their support group sessions were one of the most valuable approaches they offered. These groups targeted specific issues like symptoms related to depression or anxiety, life stressors impacting your behavioral health, coping strategies to address negative thoughts, and relapse prevention where you learned and developed different strategies to manage triggers.
Individualized Care
When you weren’t working through support groups, you would have participated in individualized counseling where strategies like motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and other clinical approaches helped you reflect on your challenges. With nearly a dozen therapeutic models and methods available, your care team would have supported you in a way that was highly individualized to your recovery needs.
