About West Texas Counseling and Rehabilitation Program
West Texas Counseling and Rehabilitation (WTCR) treats adults with opioid use disorder in Amarillo, Texas. Since 1986, this Joint Commission accredited outpatient center has provided medication assisted treatment (MAT).
Flexible Payment Methods for Your Convenience
One great feature I noticed was their flexible payment options. They accept many private insurance plans, as well as Medicare and Medicaid.
You can still get the support you need even if you don’t have insurance. You might be eligible for free treatment through state assistance or other financial assistance options. They also offer free admissions and screenings to get started.
Supporting Recovery with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
What stands out most to me is their treatment approach. MAT combines FDA approved medications with counseling to tackle the physical and emotional aspects of quitting opioids. They prescribe buprenorphine or methadone to ease withdrawal symptoms and cravings.
Counseling and therapy will help you change your life, reorient your thinking, and gain healthy coping skills. If they feel you no longer need the MAT assistance, their team works with you to gradually taper your doses.
Take Home Dosing For Your Busy Schedule
I also think it’s great that they provide take home dosing for eligible clients. They’re open from 5:30 a.m. on weekdays and 6:45 a.m. Saturdays. They allow you to take your medication home for days when you don’t have an appointment if you actively participate in treatment. You’ll benefit from the ability to maintain your other responsibilities while staying on track in recovery.
