University Health University Hospital is located on Medical Drive in San Antonio, Texas. They offer behavioral health services through outpatient care to address co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. They also offer inpatient care for those experiencing severe mental illness or who are in a critical mental health state.
Full-Service Hospital with Onsite Services
They are located in a hospital campus with plenty of onsite parking available. They are also close to Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant, with access to I-410 and I-10. They are near many restaurants, businesses and green spaces including Phil Hardberger Park and OP Schnabel Park.
When you arrive at University Health, they provide a full behavioral health assessment to determine whether you need immediate care. They will work with you and your family to create an individualized treatment plan to address your conditions.
Overnight Acute Care for Crisis Treatment
If you require overnight care, they assist with the intake process to provide supervised treatment and monitoring to ensure you can be stabilized safely and comfortably. Services are offered regardless of your PCP’s status with University Health.
There’s also dining options for adults and kids inside the main campus. You and other guests can dine in their cafeteria or in the surrounding cafes.
Community Program Referrals to UT Health & Specialized Clinics
As you near stabilization, the staff works with you on referrals you may require to obtain additional support and medical services through community programs. They also have an integrated team of support for both outpatient care and inpatient that can help you address your needs including counselors, therapists, psychiatrists and psychologists, social workers and registered nurses.
It is good to know that they also partner with UT Health San Antonio, for additional levels of psychiatric care and treatments, which may include further addressing your substance use disorder treatments and needs. Referrals can be made to UT through your counseling and medical staff at University Health.
