About Texas Panhandle Centers Amarillo Outpatient Clinic
The Texas Panhandle Center’s (TPC) Amarillo Behavioral Health Clinic in Texas provides treatment and stabilization for mental illness, severely disabling mental disorders, and substance use disorders. It’s by Sanborn Park in Amarillo.
Counseling and Medication Assisted Treatment
The center provides general outpatient treatment for Amarillo clients with substance use disorder. You’ll be educated about the disorder, have personal confidential sessions with your counselor, and receive support from peers who are also in recovery.
If it’s determined you need medication in addition to counseling, the center provides pharmacological management, medication monitoring, medication administration, and will train you on how to take your medication. Supported counseling uses cognitive behavioral therapy to help you work through your issues.
Residential Services
The center can provide short term residential treatment for clients who are experiencing an acute crisis. Clients who need longer term inpatient treatment are referred to Big Spring State Hospital.
Transition from Homelessness and Housing
Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) is available to all ages who have a substance use disorder, a co-occurring mental health disorder, and are homeless or at risk to become homeless. Supported housing services will help clients find, acquire, and keep housing. Temporary assistance for rent, rehabilitation in the home, and access to available resources are also provided through the program.
Assertive Community Treatment Program
The ACT program provides treatment, rehabilitation, and support services. Eligible clients have a chronic mental illness, have had multiple hospitalizations, and have been involved with the judicial system, homeless shelters, or community residential homes.
We sometimes need support beyond treatment so that we can regain our footing in our recovery journey. The center can refer you to medical services, educational services, and social services that will fulfill your needs.
