Residential Treatment in Mason City
The residential units include a 28-day stay, high intensity treatment and programming, and are gender-specific for adults. Admission requires that you have had a substance use evaluation completed in the last 30 days. If the evaluation has not been completed you can go to a Prairie Ridge walk-in clinic to obtain an evaluation. Drop-in centers are located on 112 2nd Street Southeast in Mason City and 214 4th Street Southeast in Hampton.
The campus consists of 20 acres of prairie land with a walking trail, exercise room, and a lounge area. The campus grounds and buildings are tobacco free. Computers are available during meal times and every evening after 8:30 pm.
Special dietary needs are accommodated but must be communicated to staff prior to admission. Meal plans are made several weeks in advance.
Clients can have visitors during weekends. A visitor and phone schedule will be made at the time of admission. After completing 21 full days of treatment a client can request one eight-hour or two four-hour passes to leave campus.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment
The facility specializes in treating substance use with co-occurring mental health disorders. Their main method for this treatment is dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). They also use the MATRIX model for rehabilitation which allows a client to build skills for relapse prevention and work through a recovery program.
Other therapies and programs include adventure based therapy, cinema/grace group therapy, music therapy, self soothing therapy, and therapy with essential oils. Additional counseling and group sessions include family counseling, trauma groups, mindfulness groups, and a stigma presentation. Optional to clients is 12 Step programming.
