Outpatient Substance Treatment Referral
The Doreen E. Chapman Center at Evanston Hospital offers outpatient treatment for substance use disorders. The center, based on the outcomes of your assessment, will treat you using the partial hospitalization program (PHP) or the intensive outpatient program (IOP).
The PHP treats patients who need acute stabilization and intensive skill building instruction. The program uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), rational emotive behavioral therapy, psychotherapy and therapeutic recreation and wellness. Treatment involves four groups daily, Monday through Friday, from 9:30 am to 2:45 pm.
The IOP uses CBT, rational emotive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, anger management, psychotherapy, diagnosis psychoeducation, and strengths/positive psychology. Based on your needs you will have a five day or three day treatment plan of two groups per day.
A family program offers private or group sessions for family support through the treatment and recovery of a loved one.
After you have completed your treatment you will have a relapse prevention plan and will be referred to a clinic that offers regular outpatient services.
