About Crossroads Counseling
Crossroads Counseling in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, was formerly known as New Hope Psychological Services. They’re licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health Division of Drug and Alcohol Licensure and the Pennsylvania Department of Mental Health to provide outpatient substance use treatment. The clinic is owned and operated by local community members.
The clinic quotes Robert H. Lauer, who once said, “Nothing worthwhile ever happens quickly and easily.” They provide treatment for adults and youth.
Intensive Outpatient Substance Use Treatment
Partial hospitalization programs (PHP) consist of half day treatments five days per week from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. These programs are intensive outpatient programs for those who can’t commit to residential treatment but need a structured program consisting of several hours per week.
Community and School Based Treatment
Community based drug and alcohol treatment (CBDA) offers substance use therapy in the home. Sometimes, circumstances prevent us from attending in person sessions such as disabilities, childcare or transportation.
CBDA supports the family as a whole with therapy, case management, parenting education, and intervention should a crisis arrive. Services for youth may occur at school, when the school district requests it.
Recovery Support and Medication
Recovery support services can assist you in finding needed community resources, developing life skills, and supporting you through your recovery process. Psychiatric services determine if you need medication in addition to therapy and will provide medication management for you. Clients with co-occurring disorders will receive psychiatric medication management.
The clinic has a certified gambling counselor who provides treatment for gambling addictions. If substance use has created a strain on your marriage, you can receive marital relationship counseling.
Legally Required Evaluations and Treatment
The batterers intervention program, Men Against Abuse Program (MAAP), lasts 26 to 30 weeks and meets weekly. Clients can be self-referred or from the court due to PFAs, plea agreements, and criminal charges.
The clinic is certified to provide DOT substance abuse professional evaluations. If a client tests positive for substances, the client is referred to a substance abuse treatment program and education.
