Miami Dade Community Services is a not for profit, community based treatment center in Miami, Florida. Since 2001 they’ve provided outpatient substance abuse and mental health care for adults in Miami Dade and Broward counties. You can access proven therapeutic interventions including targeted group therapy and services for individuals involved in the criminal justice system.
Breaking Financial Barriers
One thing that caught my eye was their dedication to serving underprivileged communities with limited financial resources. They welcome clients with Florida Medicaid. If you’re unemployed, underemployed, have low income, or receive public assistance then you can get the support you need with their quality services provided in English and Spanish.
DUI Program
Their DUI track also stood out to me. This program is available if you have a DUI offense or are court mandated to attend a DUI program.
They offer substance abuse evaluations and a course to meet legal requirements while learning more about addiction and treatment. You’ll benefit from ongoing support to prevent future offenses and understand the next steps in your journey.
HIV Services
I also think it’s fantastic that they offer HIV services. People living with HIV and those at increased risk for contracting it can access these services to raise awareness and make informed decisions about their health. You can receive HIV testing and prevention counseling. They also provide access to suitable psychosocial, medical, and preventive support services.
Specialized Psychoeducational Groups
Their specialized groups also caught my eye. Along with drug and alcohol education you can participate in sessions focused on reducing criminal behaviors, parenting, domestic violence, anger management, and LGBTQ issues.
