About Matt Talbot Institute
Matt Talbott Institute is an outpatient counseling facility for teens and adults with substance use disorders and/or dual diagnosis and is located in Toms River, New Jersey. This center is run by Reverend Doctor Edward G. Reading. This facility is a self-pay only center that doesn’t accept insurance, but offers a sliding-fee scale for those who may qualify.
The Doctor,Treatments & Populations Served
Dr. Reading has been active in addiction treatment since 1969. He stresses a non-religious, spiritual orientation while also using evidence-based and “time-tested” recovery programs. He offers individual, group, and family counseling on an outpatient basis. Dr. Reading also works with those who are currently in medication assisted treatment or who are in abstinence-based recovery. If he feels that you need a more intensive level of care than what he offers, his team will refer you to a clinic that offers help that you need.
This center is LGBTQ+ community inclusive. Staffers also assist with special issues, such as codependency, chronic relapse, eating disorders, and sexual addiction. They work with adults, teens, and elders, and their families.
Philosophy
They have stated, “We believe that people who have substance use & addictive disorders can and do recover with individualized recovery plans. No one is a ‘lost cause.’”
