About Jubilee Ministries
Jubilee Ministries in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, is a Christ-centered community that blends recovery with restorative justice. The focus is on men coming out of incarceration or have addictions and need a safe place to rebuild. With 17 chaplains, Jubilee isn’t about quick fixes or checking boxes. The whole setup is built around steady, faith-centered change. Men coming out of prison or battling addiction move into structured housing.
From day one, they all focus on discipleship. Every class, every conversation, and every bit of mentoring points back to the idea that true transformation comes through Christ.
Life That Looks Different Day by Day
What really strikes me about their program is how much of everyday life is covered. It's not just about Bible studies or devotionals, even though those are a big part. Guys are also learning how to budget money, stick to healthy routines and hold down steady work. The chaplains will also visit cell blocks and perform individual counseling.
Jubilee Aftercare is laid out in phases but it’s not about racing to finish. Instead, it’s about making sure someone is actually growing before moving on. When men finish the program, some step into apartment-style housing where they start living with more independence but still have a safety net nearby.
Finding Purpose Again
The word that keeps coming to mind with Jubilee is restoration. It’s not only about sobriety here, but about being restored to family, to community and to God. I love that men can work in Jubilee’s thrift store while in the program too. It’s more than just a job, but a chance to rebuild confidence and give back to the community. Jubilee isn't just about recovery, but it’s actually a place where lives get pieced back together in a way that truly lasts.
