About Horsham Clinic Delaware County
The Horsham Clinic in Broomall, Pennsylvania, is a satellite office that provides outpatient mental health and substance use treatment for children and teens. Darby Creek Valley Park and the Marple Sports Arena are nearby for family excursions. They’re accredited by The Joint Commission and the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention.
The clinic provides treatment for acute psychotic disorder, chronic depression, grief, anxiety, ADD, substance use disorder, mood disorders, PTSD, social withdrawal, and suicidal ideation. All outpatient programs are partial hospitalization programs (PHP).
Partial Hospitalization Treatment for Teens
PHP for teens offers treatment for children ages 13 to 18. Treatment focuses on common challenges that teens face including challenges with peers, family, and social challenges including substance misuse or dependency.
We know that our teenagers face a number of obstacles and challenges including hormonal changes, peer pressure, and bullying. The clinic can teach your teen healthy coping skills and identify underlying causes for their behavior and substance use.
Treatment is weekdays starting at 9am. A trauma informed approach will allow your teen to address the effects of trauma without having to relive it. Your child’s psychiatrist, nurse, and therapist will develop and customize a treatment plan for your teen. You are welcome to participate in these discussions and processes.
Your child may be referred for medication assisted treatment, such as antidepressants. Group therapy will allow your teen to form relationships, participate in discussions, and learn how to manage conflict. Recreational therapies include poetry, movement and crafts. An hour of tutoring is available daily for your teen.
Partial Hospitalization Treatment for Children
Outpatient PHP for children treats kids ages five to 12. The treatment program is similar to the program for teens, except for an additional early intervention approach. Your child will have mental or substance use issues under control before it becomes a serious problem.
For acute conditions, Horsham runs an inpatient center in Ambler. They can assist if you need overnight supervision.
