About Community Healthcore Fourth Street
The Parents As Teacher (PAT) / Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) helps people in Tyler, Texas, with outpatient support for addiction recovery and a focus on helping parents with young children who have behavioral and developmental issues. The clinic is connected to Community HealthCore and serves the East Texas area.
The location couldn’t be more convenient. They’re just under four miles from downtown Tyler, where you can find plenty of sober-friendly cafes. For an after-treatment family activity, the Caldwell Zoo is nearby.
How Outpatient Addiction Treatment Works
To start treatment for an intervention, there are a few requirements all clients must meet. The program only accepts Texas residents who are adults aged 18 and older.
After an intervention, you should have a diagnosis for a substance use disorder (SUD). Whether you’re experiencing issues with opioid use or you’re dealing with an alcohol use disorder, staff will give you an initial assessment to help them figure out your best treatment plan.
Treatment includes Living in Balance, a well-known program with a good track record for success in recovery. One person said, "The Beginning saved my life! I walked in as an addict who didn't care about myself or anyone else, ready to say goodbye to life. When I left 90 days later, I was saved!"
For Present and Future Parents
Pregnant and postpartum women receive priority admission to support the health and safety of both mother and baby. This includes women who are currently injecting and women dealing with substance use disorders.
Parents As Teachers is a free service for adults with kids 5 years old and younger. They focus on helping your kids succeed in school and can include health screenings and evaluations. Early developmental programs can include speech programs, physical therapy, and disabilities. Services are available in Spanish as well.
The Beginning is a “good place for outpatient services,” one client shared, mentioning the supportive staff as a highlight of their experience. That kind of care plays a big role in how people feel about starting and sticking with treatment.
