Located in Cambridge, Maryland, is the Avenues Recovery Center at Eastern Shore. This is a community focused drug and alcohol rehab facility that offers wraparound care to help you work through your addiction struggles. They support both men and women and provide detox, residential treatment and a really strong alumni program.
Community Focused Care
From the moment you enter rehab here, you'll find a really strong sense of community. This community exists in the way you connect with your peers and the way you're supported by the staff and counselors here.
On any given day during your time here, you can expect to be supported by individual counseling and really interactive group sessions that provide plenty of moments for connection. There's also time built into your daily routine where you can engage in yoga, exercise, classes, workshops and other activities that are focused on recovery but are rooted in fun, community activities that help you build resilience and positive recovery habits.
Safe and Supportive Recovery Environment
Although this is a coed facility, there are separate sleeping quarters for men and women. Though it's a communal sleeping space, you do have your own private storage area. The facility itself is clean, calming and tidy, and it gives you a really serene place to focus fully on your recovery.
They employ the 12 Steps here, but there are also alternative therapies as well. You'll get to go out during the weekend with your peers, exploring the town and engaging in fun activities. This also allows you to practice what it's like to apply skills like boundary setting and strong communication into your everyday life.
