State Representative Tracy Richardson recently announced a new round of statewide addiction recovery grant funding to support addiction treatment programs and recovery through the OneOhio Recovery Foundation.
This nonprofit organization is dedicated to distributing 55% of the funds received from pharmaceutical industry settlements to advance substance abuse and mental health services for Ohio residents. It has secured $45.7 million to support opioid addiction prevention, treatment and recovery efforts throughout Ohio.
Supporting Addiction Treatment and Recovery Across Ohio
The first round of grant funding made over $45 million available for more than 240 local projects across Ohio. These grants supported the development and implementation of recovery housing, overdose follow-up services, youth alcohol and drug prevention, addiction treatment options, school mental health programs and more.
There were 4,452 unintentional drug overdose deaths in 2023. And 78% of those deaths the highly potent synthetic opioid, fentanyl.
While overdose deaths involving opioids are on the decline in Ohio, the need for prevention, treatment and recovery services remains. With this current grant cycle, the OneOhio Recovery Foundation hopes to keep the momentum going and continue supporting communities, families and individuals across the state.

The Funding Inquiry window opened on January 14 and is accepting proposals until February 11.

Without insurance, the average cost of rehab is $56,688. Inpatient rehab in Ohio averages about $50,024, while outpatient treatment is often more affordable, with an average price of $8,312.
