Mirmont Treatment Center is a cutting edge facility located in beautiful Media, Pennsylvania. This large campus offers a vast variety of drug and alcohol treatment services. They were established 25 years ago on the belief that addiction is a disease that needs intensive treatment and therapy. Although it all began as an inpatient treatment facility for alcoholics, it expanded rapidly to encompass almost all addictions and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. They offer both residential inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, and partial inpatient treatment.
By treating each addiction and person as an individual in need of help, they can focus on compassion, excellence, service, mindfulness, and the reduction of addictive behaviors. What was once a single clinic is now part of the Main Line Health Services consortium and draws off the services that the larger entity of Main Line can provide. This combination allows Mirmont to provide emergency services and insurance acceptance through the larger nonprofit corporation.
Since their inception, Mirmont has helped thousands of people through the roughest part of their addiction and treatment by providing comprehensive holistic care. They have a foundation in holistic healing and 12 step resourcefulness. Their staff believes in treating the mind, body, and spirit of each individual until each aspect is healthy and happy.
Their spacious facility offers treatment for all forms of addiction including:
They use the one day at a time philosophy in order to help those addicted to drugs or alcohol gain an understanding of themselves, their health, and their freedom from addiction.
Most treatment centers are now taking a more holistic approach. Mirmont is different in that it started with a holist person center approach to drug addiction treatment. This begins with some of the amenities offered at this campus. These amenities are not just bonuses but are part of a more complete holist approach to addiction treatment.
The Mirmont campus is placed on 33 acres of beautiful forested hills. It has gardens for relaxation and gardening to promote wellness. These gardens act as both meditation gardens and to provide fresh vegetables for the clients and staff. Athletic fields and greens promote physical health along side the fully equipped fitness center.
The rooms are furnished with views of the gardens as well as private bathrooms for comfort. Each room suits two people and is furnished in warm and aesthetic fashion. Dining is communal with appointed tables. There are sunrooms, recreation rooms, and other relaxation facilities.
In keeping with their philosophy of healing the mind, body, and spirit, Mirmont offers many amenities that focus on health, fitness, and nutrition. Many people choose to take full advantage of the amenities offered to help you in your treatment goals.
This 111 bed facility offers:
Each of these is available to all of the residents. The grounds, therapy rooms, and communal areas are accessible to the outpatient clients as well as those in inpatient treatment. By taking advantage of the amenities available you can ease the withdrawal symptoms in simple yet definable ways.
A case manager who will also suggest health, fitness, and dietary help will construct your overall treatment program. They can put you in touch with each of these services as they coordinate the rest of your care. Although not completely necessary for treatment, the amenities can not only make your stay a more comfortable one, they can help you to relax, practice mindfulness, and recover more quickly than you would without them.
Mirmont offers inpatient detoxification with a minimum of a five day stay. This is the least amount of time that you can detoxify from drugs or alcohol. Although each person is different, the average detoxification therapy stay is 7 to 14 days.
Some of the treatment types offered on the Mirmont campus are:
Each of these therapies is available in conjunction with the others at Mirmont to help you find a more complete treatment program. You can combine therapies to make sure that you are getting the most out of your treatment experience.
Mirmont has several treatment specialties aside from their focus on mindfulness and mindfulness therapy. These specialties are:
The key to all of these specialty programs is mindfulness and a holistic approach. This is the cornerstone of Mirmont treatment. Mindfulness is the act of focusing on one thing at a time and being mindful of what you are doing and feeling at any given time. It can assist you in daily tasks, knowing when you need help and asking for it as well as learning to take the time out for yourself that you need each day. This practice is centuries old but is only now being applied to addiction science. Mindfulness include practicing relaxation techniques, meditation, deep breathing, and task oriented behaviors.
Mary Holt-Paolone, MSRN, mindfulness practitioner – Mary Holt heads up our mindfulness program. This program teaches you to ask for help when you need it, focus on individual tasks and accomplish one thing at a time, and distress from the modern world.
Joy Pettitt – the director of Mirmont Treatment Center heads up the facility operations, doctors, and staff members, making sure that all care is safe and courteous.
Mirmont employs a host of doctors, nurses, case managers, and support staff to make sure that all of your treatment needs are met. Each counselor is certified and trained. Staff also continues their education to keep current on all of the latest trends in addiction treatment to make sure that you have the best care possible.
